FAHSASITES TROOP OUT TO ELECT NEW LEADER

Members of the Faculty of Humanities and Culture Students’ Association FAHSA, Osun State University, Ikire Campus on Thursday trooped out massively to elect new leaders of the association.

LINCSSA PRESS reporters at the venue of the election gathered that the process started at 9am in the morning with the presence of all stakeholders including security operatives, electorates, officials of the FAHSA Electoral Committee, Internal and external observers, the media, among others.

The Chairman, FAHSA Electoral Committee, Comrade Toyyib Omowale announced that voting is expected to end by 1.30pm or until the last person on the queue as at the time votes.

Omowale directed that all aspirants were expected to leave the school premises once they cast their vote.

He urged FAHSAsites to come out en-masse and elect the aspirants of their choice in the poll.

In her remarks, the Provost, College of Humanities and Culture, Professor Temitope Balogun, commended the electorates for trooping out to vote their preferred choice for the respective positions.

Professor Balogun urged the students to be peaceful in their conduct assuring all stakeholders that the University is committed to ensuring smooth transition of power in the association.

The Sub-Dean, Student Affairs, UNIOSUN Ikire Campus, Dr. Adewole Adeleke while corroborating the Provost said all hands are on deck to nip in the bud cases of manipulation or attempts to disrupt the peaceful conduct of the exercise.

As at 11:15am, voters were still trooping out to exercise their franchise.

According to the Electoral Committee, counting, sorting and announcement of results begins immediately after voting ends.
