Determination, Diligence, Consistency Key To My Success – KWASU First Class Graduate

With 3.69 CGPA of 4.0 GP, Ibrahim Adebayo Adeyinka bagged First Class at the Department of Public Health Science, Kwara State University for the 2020/2021 academic session. In this interview with OLADEWA SHITTU, the health science graduate talks about his journey in school, the steps he took to achieve this feat, among others.

TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF
My name is Adebayo Ibrahim Adeyinka. I am an indigene of Oyo west Local Government Area of Oyo State, and I was born and brought up in that area. I am from a monogamous home. I am the second of five children. I have been passionate about health related courses since I was a kid. The determination to become a successful Man made me to be a highly organized and hard-working individual who is presently looking for a responsible position to gain practical experience. Also, I am an Icon in rendering academic assistance, A born writer and exponent of good leadership. In my role, I also love Fahsion and Freelancing as a Fashion model is what I do effortlessly. I’m an avid reader and I love to dance. On most nights, you might find me on my desk exploring through series of books.

HOW WERE YOU ABLE TO ACHIEVE A FIRST CLASS?
Quite Alright, I decided within myself right from my first day on campus that i can get a first class degree but the journey to graduating with a Cgpa of 3.69/4.0 was quite tremendous. This feat was achievable with my 3 letters which I strongly believed in. The DDC (Dedication, Diligence and Consistency). Basically, I was ready to put in the hard work to achieve academic success. I did that and I achieved this success. All thanks to Almighty Allah.

DO YOU ENGAGE IN OTHER ACTIVITIES ASIDES ACADEMICS?
Yes! I was a Freelance model and Relationship doctor whilst studying for 4 years to be a public health scientist. Juggling modeling work and therapizing my clients that have relationship issues with academics was quite fun to me because I am a socialite that understands how to make most of my time to be effective.

IF YES, HOW WERE YOU ABLE TO COPE WITHOUT BEING AFFECTED?
I set high personal and academic standards for myself and live up to them. I Listened to that little voice inside me that says, “I can do this”.

WHO/WHAT WAS YOUR GREATEST INSPIRATION?
My parents have been my greatest support system. Even with the little they had, they still tried their best to make me comfortable and support me. That was what motivated me to make them proud, and I am happy I got to do so.

WHAT WAS YOUR GREATEST CHALLENGE DURING THE JOURNEY?
Acquiring successful time management skills was the biggest challenge I faced as a student because I was really interested in many activities aside academics.

HOW DO YOU GO ABOUT YOUR READING SCHEDULES?

Basically, I studied myself to know what works for me. I discovered I assimilate really quick and better at nights so I sticked to that. I am huge fan of Night classes. I practically spend time with friends and play with my loved ones during the day and when it’s 7:30pm, I am already inside school for the night reading. The best thing to do is to study oneself so as to know when our brain is ready for us.


ASIDES ACADEMICS, WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING IN YOUR LEISURE TIME?
I could sing off key, dance like a total teddy and talk with many people who are interested in my ideas.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN FIVE YEARS?
My long-term career goal is to become a renowned Public health specialist. My parents always told me not to settle for less than my best. So, I plan to claw my way to the top!

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE THOSE IN SCHOOL?
Don’t let the system discourage you. Don’t just work hard, work smart. I will like to tell you that smart work is little hard work plus creativity. Find your most suitable approach to studying, never be afraid to ask for help and help others too.
